Pairadocs is a podcast with a Christian take on life, family, and culture. Jimmy and Josh will provide marriage and parenting insight, to be sure.  However, don't be suprised if other topics emerge,  such as sports, entertainment, politics, or the latest episode of Pioneer Woman - we have way too many women in our lives!

This week Jimmy and Josh discuss two more parenting myths that so many of us fall victim to.  Myth #3- We as parents must treat all our children exactly the same.  And Myth #4- If you become angry in front of your kids, you’re a bad parent.  Listen in as the guys de-bunk the bunk!

This week we are breathing rarefied air as we are welcoming back one of just two guests that have appeared twice on Pairadocs podcast.  While Jimmy is out healing hearts and generally making the world a better place, Josh sits down, once again, with Van Moody about his latest book, Desired by God: Discover a Strong, Soul-Satisfying Relationship with God by Understanding Who His Is and How Much He Loves You

Sep 11, 2018

This week is the first week in a two-part series on Parenting Myths!  Beliefs about parenting that are generally held to be true, yet are as wrong as wrong can be…and wrong can be pretty wrong!  Listen in as the guys discuss Myth #1- Kids should never see their parents argue, and Myth #2- The kids always come first.  How can these two be so wrong, when they feel so right?  Let’s discuss.

This week the podcast features none other than Sam Collier who is a speaker, social change agent, and host of a national TV show that highlights conversations with the greatest names in Christianity today.  Today, Sam gets to add the Pairadocs to that list…

Are you and/or your spouse guilty of putting other things before your marriage? If we're not careful, our careers can easily come before our marriage. But this only serves to splinter our home. So what are we to do? Listen in this week as the guys talk through ways to always keep your marriage first.

Today, Jimmy and Josh talk to the real deal.  If you ever wanted to mold your Christian faith after a modern-day disciple of Jesus, Dr. David Vanderpool would be THE MAN.  A successful surgeon in Dallas, Texas, left his practice and moved his family to Haiti, to change lives for the Kingdom, one broken dream at a time.

Aug 28, 2018

The guys talk through whether or not you should spank your kids? Is it ok? Why are so many countries outlawing it? Listen in.

Aug 28, 2018

The guys sit down with Dana Bowman today, mom, author, blogger. You will love her! She talks about how to be perfect, like her! Enjoy.

The boys discuss Is the Bible True with Andy Bannister

Aug 21, 2018

This week the fellas sit down with, (she could have actually been standing, I don’t remember) Autumn Miles about her new book, I Am Rahab: Touched by God, Fully Restored.  Autumn talks about her revelation that, just like her, most of the great heroes of the Bible were ordinary people who sinned, but God's love, mercy, and truth proved greater.  Listen to her story and see if its not your story as well.

Listen, we hate to be the ones to break this to you, but here goes…you and your spouse are different.  And not just you and your spouse, ALL men and women are different.  Despite the growing drumbeat of voices trying to convince us otherwise, males and females are physically, genetically, mentally, and emotionally different.  So, when you are at your breakfast table and are staring incomprehensively at the person that is the source of so much frustration in your life.  It might not be that they are evil…though we cannot rule that out…  It might be that they are simply different.  In fact, different as night and day.

The week, the boys bring you Part 2 in their 3-part series, on the big stumbling blocks that can lead believers to lose their faith.  They sit down, once again, with Dr. Andy Bannister, author of the new book, The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist, and explore the issue of Universalism.  Or in simpler terms…do all faiths lead to heaven.  As Oprah was famous for saying, “Do you really think God cares if you call his son Jesus or not?”  Well, does He?  Listen in and let’s find out.

Aug 7, 2018

This week, Jimmy and Josh discuss some of the latest parenting and family news articles found floating through the interwebs.  Join them and get caught up on all the pertinent information you need to know to be a fully informed and engaged parent.

So, your neighbor leans back on your couch and says, “I appreciate you inviting me to church, but I’m not really into the God thing.  I guess I would believe in God, but with all the evil and suffering in the world…I don’t know.  I just don’t think a God that is all loving and all powerful would allow that, so I’ve concluded there is no God.”  And your response would be?  What? Come on!  Think of something!  There’s no need to fear, the Pairadocs are here!  Listen in as we talk with Andy Bannister, the author of, The Atheist Who Didn’t Exist, as we grapple with the very issues that caused Tony Campolo’s son, Bart, to reject his faith and adopt atheism.

Jul 30, 2018

Listen in as Jimmy and Josh discuss Dr. Madeline Levine’s new book, The Price of Privilege: How Parental Pressure and Material Advantage are Creating a Generation of Disconnected and Unhappy Kids.  You would think that it would be great for a kid to grow up in a home where all his needs are met, parents are focused and involved, and he’s provided with the best educational experience out there…but apparently, you’d be wrong.  We’re learning that the more a child is given in life, the more toxic that life can become.

Jul 30, 2018

Emerson Eggerichs, sits down with the guys this week to discuss his new book, The 4 Wills of God: The Way He Directs Our Steps and Frees Us to Direct Our Own.  Most of us know Emerson from his best-selling book Love and Respect, but in his latest book, he delves into the mystery of knowing God’s will for your life.  BTW, it ain’t as mysterious as you may think!

Jul 24, 2018

If Josh and Jimmy could share one thing with struggling anxious parents it would be, “Relax!  You’re not going to screw up your kids!”  You know why grandparents make such great parents now?  They tend not to sweat the small stuff, and a lifetime of parenting has taught them that most things are small stuff.  If you love your kids and try to be the best parent you can be…take a deep breath and chill.  They’re going to be okay.  This whole parenting thing may kill you, but your kids are going to be okay.

Jul 24, 2018

This week, Josh sits down with Johnny Baker who is the Celebrate Recovery pastor at Saddleback church in California (where CR got started BTW) and national director of Celebrate Recovery about his brand-new book, The Road to Freedom.  So if you struggle with any type of hurt, hang-up, or habit…this interview is for you.

Jul 16, 2018

This week Jimmy and Josh discuss their road to success, including how they recently were awarded the Nobel Peace Prize…oh, okay.  So that’s actually not what they are discussing. Instead, they will probe the topic of Rigorous Honesty within the family.  They will unpack this issue and emphasize just how important honesty is in all our relationships.  BUT, when it comes to honesty, is it possible to have too much of a good thing?  Listen in to find out.

Jul 16, 2018

This week the boys sit down with Stephen Grcevich to discuss his latest book, Mental Health and the Church: A Ministry Handbook for Including Children and Adults ADHD, Anxiety, Mood Disorders, and Other Common Mental Health Conditions.  Come on, any book with a title that long has got to be great!  Right?!  Give a listen, because chances are you or someone close to you suffers from some type of mental/emotional difficulty.  This book discusses not only how to minister to them, but how to include them in what God is doing at your church.

Jul 9, 2018

This week Jimmy and Josh piggy back off of their discussion with Sam Ponder about the sexism that she experienced while being a lone female in an industry that is all but exclusively male.  That got the guys thinking about sexism within the Christian community.  Is it real, or are some people simply making much ado about nothing?  Has the traditional protestant doctrine of women can’t be pastors and wives are to submit to their husbands opened the door to sexual discrimination that many of us don’t even notice?  Listen in!  If you’re a guy or you’re a gal, I’m sure both sexes will be equally angry at us by the time the episode concludes!

Jul 9, 2018

This week we kickoff the 2nd half of the 2018 season of Pairadocs, with the boys sitting down with Sam Ponder.  For several years, Sam was one of the hosts of ESPN College Gameday, and most recently is now the host for ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown.  She’s a gregarious believer, married to an ex-NFL quarterback, and is in front of millions of people a week talking about pro football.  She maybe the most perfect female alive on the planet!!!  Sam’s an amazing woman with an amazing platform with which to share her faith in Christ. Not a shabby way to lead off the fall of 2018!

Jun 25, 2018

The Pairadocs sit down and discuss parental anger today. Let’s face it, kids are little idiots. They do and say the stupidest things – God love them. It is easy to be frustrated when trying to do life with them, but parental anger is one of the most harmful things we can do and show our children. In this episode Jimmy and Josh share ways you can keep calm when parenting your kids.

Jun 25, 2018

The guys interview Gary Thomas today on the show. Gary is a pastor, author, speaker and he has a passion for his Savior and assisting struggling marriages. Jimmy and Josh discuss his latest book, Cherish.

So, what do we do when our spouse seemingly refuses to love us?  We try to love them.  We go so far as to figure out their love language and love them that way, but it seems to be a one-way street.  Short of a Louisville Slugger up side their head, what’s a spouse to do?!  Listen in as the guys give you some much needed options.
